KAN JAM
Kan Jam is a team-based flying disc game where two teams of two players try to score points by throwing a flying disc at and into a designated goal. One player throws the disc, and the other tries to deflect it into or against the goal to score. The first team to reach 21 points exactly, or score an instant win, wins the game.

BOARDBALL
Boardball is a fast-paced, four-player game where teams take turns hitting a ball off the square board with their hands, aiming to make it unreturnable by the opposing team. Similar to Spikeball, it involves continuous rallies, quick reflexes, and 360-degree play around the board, but replaces the round net with a hard, flat surface, adding a unique bounce and strategy to the game. If you hit the angled side it’s like getting blocked and you hit again. This is easier to play than spikeball and a ton of fun!

BUCKET SOCCER
This is a game we made up at a summer camp thet I worked at. All general soccer rules apply but the goals are upsidedown buckets place in the grass or sand. Score by kicking the ball into the bucket. Each team has a bucket. All players must remain 5 feet away from the buckets, if you accidently touch the bucket you are defending it is a point for the other team. Grab any two buckets (or 4 for cross way play) and a soccer ball. Links belos if you need them.

KUBB
Kubb is a lawn game where two teams take turns tossing wooden batons to knock over the opposing team’s wooden blocks (kubbs), which are set up on the baseline. Once all baseline kubbs are knocked down, a team can aim for the “king” in the center—knocking it over wins the game, but hitting it too early results in an automatic loss.

LADDER GOLF
Players take turns throwing bolas (two balls connected by a string) at a ladder-like structure with three rungs, each worth different points. The goal is to wrap the bolas around the rungs to score exactly 21 points, with the top rung typically worth 3 points, middle 2, and bottom 1.
You can build this yourself but after the cost of materials and time, it’s likely worth just picking up a set.
Pro tip: Build an oversized set with 4 inch pvc, goals 7 or 8 feet tall. Use soccer balls or something similar for the bolas. You will have to build this one!

CORN HOLE
Players take turns tossing bean bags toward a raised board with a hole at the far end. Scoring is based on where the bags land—3 points for a bag in the hole and 1 point for one on the board—with the goal of reaching exactly 21 points.
I would suggest investing in a heavy duty set. I have use the cheap ones and they just don’t last.
If you build this yourself, make sure to get the finish right for the proper slide.

CROSSNET
Crossnet is a four-square-style volleyball game played on a unique four-way net, where players compete individually in four quadrants. The goal is to stay in the fourth square (the scoring square) and earn points by serving and rallying the ball over the net—if the ball lands in your square, you’re out, and players rotate accordingly.

AX THROWING
Axe throwing is a target-based game where players take turns throwing axes at a bullseye target, aiming to score points based on where the axe sticks. The closer to the center the axe lands, the higher the score. This is obviously the kids version.
Pro tip: To make a portable version for adults, use 2x10s, align them close together and secure to a back frame. Make a stand and paint a target. I made a template for the target using a scrap piece of wood, here is a similar video to explain – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zdv8tGXokY8 Use all safety measures while building and doing this activity.
The longest lasting axes are the one piece like this – One piece Axes, however the wooden axes are what most people use.

ULTIMATE FRISBEE
Ultimate Frisbee is a fast-paced team sport where players pass a flying disc to teammates, aiming to catch it in the opposing team’s end zone to score points. Players cannot run while holding the disc and must rely on quick passes and teamwork to move it down the field, similar to a mix of football and soccer with continuous play.
You can use any frisbee to play this but I would recommend the 175g. Also, of course, you can just throw the ol frisbee around if you don’t have many people around.

CROQUET
A classic for all ages! Players use mallets to hit colored balls through a series of metal hoops (wickets) set up in a specific order on the grass. The objective is to be the first to navigate all the wickets and hit the finishing stake, using strategy to position your ball and potentially knock opponents’ balls off course.
Final Pro Tip:
Make it fun! Add some rules to adapt to your crowd, make an older game more challenging or just more fun. Have a great summer!
